ENGL 245 Technical Writing for Creative People This is an introductory course in technical writing for students in the arts and media. Students will understand and produce primary genres of technical writing including instructions, technical descriptions and recommendation reports. We will also study the workplace contexts in which these genres function, with a special focus on the role of technical writing in the arts and media. This awareness of the rhetorical context of technical writing will ultimately become a powerful basis for students to make informed choices about the texts they produce.
